A guide to the map
What is astrocartography?
Astrocartography connects your birth chart with a world map. In astrology, planetary lines are interpreted in relation to themes such as relationships, growth and a sense of home.
How do you read a line on the map?
A line shows places where a planet was at one of four important chart angles at the moment of your birth. Its interpretation combines the planet and that angle. Let’s look at one example.
What does Jupiter · MC mean?
- Planet: Jupiter
- In astrology, it symbolizes growth, learning and a broader perspective.
- Area of life: MC
- The Midheaven relates to work, visibility and professional direction.
Together, they suggest themes of professional growth, sharing knowledge or exploring new opportunities. Being near this line can prompt questions about working in a city; it does not determine whether that place will suit you.
Four areas of life on the map
The same planet can be interpreted differently depending on the chart angle. The abbreviations on the lines identify that context:
- Self and new beginnings · AC
- Ascendant: self-expression and the way you begin new chapters.
- Relationships and collaboration · DC
- Descendant: connections, partnerships and encounters with others.
- Work and visibility · MC
- Midheaven: professional direction and your public life.
- Home and belonging · IC
- Imum Coeli: private life, everyday routines and a sense of belonging.
Why do we need your birth time?
Your birth date, place and the most accurate time you know help locate the lines on the map. An approximate time can change their positions; you can provide an uncertainty range in the analysis. Without a birth time, Astroviator does not recommend a specific city.
How can you use the map to choose a place?
Decide what you are looking for
Choose a theme that matters to you: relationships, career, home or self-discovery.
Read the planet and area of life together
Explore the meaning of lines near a city, rather than relying on their colors alone.
Compare the interpretation with everyday realities
Consider work, living costs, language, loved ones and relocation requirements.
How should you treat an interpretation?
Astrocartography is an astrological tool for reflection, not a scientific method of predicting events. It cannot guarantee success, a relationship or well-being. The map can help frame your questions; also base travel and relocation decisions on your experience and practical circumstances.
Explore a city suggested for you
In the free analysis, you choose a priority and enter your birth details. You receive one suggested city on a map with a short explanation. One analysis is available per account, with no payment card required.
The fuller atlas and detailed report are a separate, optional product.
The full report is currently available in Polish only.
Two more questions about the map
Does a line need to pass directly through a city?
No. Astrological interpretations also consider distance from the line. Distance alone does not score a city: the planet, area of life and the rest of the map matter too.
Does the map change every day?
Your birth map is based on the moment you were born, so its lines do not shift with the current date. Changing birth details, especially the time, can change their positions.
